Adsense - Advertising That Makes Sense

AdSense is a term that involves advertising on the Internet. The Google advertisements that you often notice on many websites online are known as AdSense advertisements. The Internet advertising giant Google Inc places such ads in appropriate places on the Internet. These advertisements appear on various websites that are selected by Google for that purpose.

These ads are made up of one phrase in bold text followed by two lines of text describing briefly whatever it is that is being advertised. The URL of the website that is being advertised is embedded in part of the text and thus Google AdSense advertisements are actually hyperlinks that point to the website of a particular product or service. Clicking on such a link will launch the website concerned.

What Is Pay Per Click?

Google places ads only on websites that match the subject discussed by the advertisement concerned. That means you are likely to find an ad for spectacle frames on a website that discusses the functions of the human eye or anything that is associated with the eye, and with vision. An advertisement for cat food is more likely to appear on a web page that discusses pets and domestic animals.

Advertisers need to pay Google only when the link pointing their web page is clicked on, which action in turn causes the website concerned to launch. The fee paid in advance by the advertiser is only for the number of clicks that he desires, having agreed beforehand upon the price he is willing to pay per click on the link that points to the website he wants to advertise.

When the number of clicks paid for are exhausted, the advertiser needs to renew his contract for that particular advertisement by making a fresh payment. That is what pay per click is all about.

What Is AdSense Revenue Sharing?

Adsense revenue sharing means enabling Google advertisements to appear on your websites or blogs and getting paid by Google when these advertisements attract sufficient attention from a viewer, enough attention to induce him to click on the link concerned, for more information.

A part of the revenue that the advertiser pays Google is paid to the webmaster on whose website these AdSense ads are placed. This is what revenue sharing is all about.

Is Revenue Sharing For Everyone?

Having a website or blog is the basic requirement in order to get involved in sharing advertising revenue with Google. Once you have a website of your own, you need to apply to Google for an AdSense account. The quality of your website is one of the points Google will consider when granting you approval. The quality depends on various factors, and the most vital factor is the content or text.

The content on your site should be original in every sense of the word and should provide some value to readers. However, if you are able to write quality content, there is one very simple way by means of which you could participate in the Google AdSense revenue sharing program.

A Shortcut To AdSense Revenue Sharing

This simple way is to join an online article writing site and to start writing and submitting articles of value. This will save you the trouble involved in setting up a blog or a website. Article submitting sites that facilitate Google AdSense revenue sharing are basically sites in which the single task of every member is to submit articles.

There are a large number of topics that members can write on and just about anybody could easily find one or more topics on which they could write something about. Every article submitted by a member becomes a web page on its own with a unique URL which points directly to that particular page. These sites are programmed such that Google AdSense advertisements appear on all the article pages belonging to the site.

Advertisements that appear on these pages are topical. That means these ads will be more or less on the same topic as what is discussed by the content in the article. The article marketing site involved shares the revenue generated by these Google ads with the author of the article. Thus, they are also often referred to as revenue sharing sites.

Getting A Google AdSense Account

Of course in order to benefit from Google AdSense revenue sharing you need to get a Google AdSense account. Whether your participation is via your own website, blog, or even if you intend joining an article site in order to earn via your writings, you need to have an AdSense account.

In order to get one you have to apply for one. Most article sites have provision to forward an application through their system. Once you enroll and submit your articles, you could apply to Google from the site itself, and Google will review the quality of your articles before granting approval.

The site through which you forward your application is not under any obligation to back you in any way where your application for an AdSense account is concerned. It's the quality of your articles that will have to bear testimony and justify your claims for an AdSense account.

On the other hand, if you are forwarding your website or blog as a testimonial to back your claim for an AdSense account, Google will review your site and your account will be approved if they find your site fit enough to carry AdSense advertisements.

If you already have an AdSense account, all you have to do is submit your AdSense code to the revenue sharing site, and once you do that you will find AdSense ads appearing on the pages of your articles. Some of these ads will contain your code and how often your code appears in these ads depends on the proportion the revenue sharing site is set up to share their income with its members.

For example if a certain article site shares its revenue on an sixty-forty basis with its members. That means for every hundred times your page is viewed, Google ads containing your code will appear sixty times. The rest of the time, the site benefits.

The proportion in which revenue is shared varies from site to site. Some sites go fifty-fifty, some go sixty-forty in favor of the member, and some sites have only twenty per cent in their favor.

Are Revenue Sharing Sites Free To Join?

Most article writing sites are free to join. There are some great online article sites that you could enroll with and submit your essays in order to earn AdSense revenue. Some of them are discussed on this very site itself.

The next two pages on this site contain recommendations and links to some revenue sharing sites. You could expect regular updates as well. Please check out the other pages on this site via the tabs at the top of this page. I hope you found this information useful and benefited from it.
