The advent of the Internet enabled many new related concepts to emerge for the benefit of all. For starters there was e-mail. This new concept I believe, slowly and steadily began to ease the burden on the physical postal system to some extent.
However in order to benefit from this new concept and many other goodies that were imminent, one needed to posess an electronic device linked to the communication system, already in existance, one of the topics of this discussion, namely, the mighty Internet
This device, the computer, or a laptop was not in everybody's posession. They were, in the initial stages used to store information and recall the information whenever needed. There was software around that facilitated all these requirements.
Although the might of the Internet was never predefined, its value kept rising. Especially so with the advent of other intangibles like web pages for instance.
Web sites would be rendered totally useless without the Internet to carry it around and present it to viewers. Web pages are created for information purposes since they contain text and images, just like newspapers and magazines.
Fast forward by several steps, we arrive at 'Social Media!' The mighty social media now is a very powerful element on the World Wide Web and in the whole wide world! All those who tread on the social media are referred to as 'influencers.' Their influence begins with their first post on social media.
Although there is no guarantee that the influence of any influencer will rise and keep rising, the people with whom they interact, the quality of their posts, and the comments that they make, play a major role.
The concepts of making posts, liking a post, following an individual, commenting on an individual's posts, all played vital roles in the growing or waning influence of the influencer.
However, there were some prerequisites that influenced the influencer's potential to influence. One such pre-requisite is, celebrity status. Being a celebrity means you already have a head start. Followers start to flock around the social media accounts of celebrities.
Followers even rush to follow those who follow celebrities. I do not really know how this could be advantageous to an influencer, as I am only an observer and not an expert on social media.
Whatever the case may be, the celebrity, in a very short period of time succeeds in getting a massive amount of followers, end eventually becomes a much pursued influencer. The follower count of celebrities is usually in millions.
Thus, posts made by celebrities are viewed by a very large number of Internet users. Now ... This kinda thing begins to attract the attention of the advertising companies.
Fast forward by a few more months ... Hell breaks loose! In a very short period of time, everybody with a computer or laptop with an Internet connection is advertising a product or service on the Internet, via the social media of course! The advertising industry has stepped in on all cylinders!
The might of the advertising industry is beginning to make huge dents on the Internet! They have just started off on their commercial journey to cash in via this new concept. Now they are hell bent on influencing social media influencers to make posts on their social media accounts, designed to influence other users and the general public.
Influencers are paid to make posts on their social media accounts, recommending some product or service. The more the number of followers the influencer has, the more he/she is sought after.
Fast forward by a few more hurdles, and you will find all the social media networks buzzing with promotional activity, introducing people to various products and services. And this has not changed for a long spell.
Soon evolution was beginning to set in. It was not just products and services, but also ideas and opinions on various issues that began getting circulated online via social media. Some distatseful stuff too.
So much so, that various social media operators had to bring in new sets of rules to curb unethical practices. That being the case, there are restrictions imposed by the operators and they kept banning members who broke the rules.
A clean social media promoting ethical products and services, promoting ideas enforcing peaceful coexistance, promoting various worthy charities, sharing information that has been proven to benefit the general public, is what is needed and I believe this could be accomplished, and is being accomplished.
Getting paid to post on social media was already happening. This concept supports the work from home market, and gave rise to opportunities that could enable an ordinary person with a desktop or laptop to make a few extra dollars working from home.
If you are interested in joining the bandwagon and start posting on social media for a fee, announcing your talents online would be helpful in gaining customers who would engage your services for simple tasks on the Internet. If you are already a member of X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms, it's your posts that reflect your talents.
Your ability to compose sane and intelligible phrases on any trending topic or on just about anything that blends with the mood is what matters.
While you are at it it would be advisable to keep an ear to the ground looking out for any openings that you could consider suitable to pursue. Keep googling the phrase 'Paid To Post,' and occasionally you may stumble upon something interesting.
Use your discretion at all times and keep checking out reviews on whatever you plan to embark on, and keep using your discretion.
